Een droom tussen vrienden
Wat begon als een gedeelde droom tussen vrienden, werd na jaren van onderzoek werkelijkheid. Alain Llopart, geboren in Baskenland, vertelt over zijn aankomst in dit gebied en hoe de schoonheid en rust van de omgeving hem betoverden en hem ervan overtuigden zich hier met zijn vriend Matthew te vestigen. “Het feit dat we niet werden overspoeld door antennes en hoogspanningsnetten, en het idee van een Catalaanse boerderij midden in de bergen, zonder buren in de wijde omtrek, maakte dat ik verliefd werd,” bekent Alain. Na twee jaar onvermoeibaar zoeken, en toen ze bijna de handdoek in de ring hadden gegooid, vonden ze Mas Ferrerós, een plek die niet alleen aan hun verwachtingen voldeed, maar hen ook de ruimte bood om hun levensproject te ontwikkelen.

Momenteel zijn ze bezig met de oprichting van een non-profitvereniging , met als doel niet alleen deze plek te behouden, maar ook een alternatieve vorm van menselijke uitwisseling te bevorderen die afwijkt van het huidige economische systeem. Ze zoeken betrokken bewoners, autonome mensen die hun waarden delen en bereid zijn deel te nemen aan het gemeenschapsleven en het behoud van het erfgoed, evenals aan de onderhoudstaken van het landgoed, om “die sfeer van verbondenheid en gezamenlijke participatie” te creëren. En die ook financieel kunnen bijdragen aan het onderhoud van het landgoed . De vereniging biedt immers niet alleen structuur en ondersteuning voor het leven in dit huis, maar zet zich ook in voor het voortzetten van de voorouderlijke erfenis en fungeert als een middel om mensen met de natuur te verbinden.

Met een oppervlakte van ongeveer tien hectare biedt het landgoed een adembenemend landschap met direct uitzicht op Frankrijk en de Pyreneeën, waar oude bouwwerken en inheemse bossen te vinden zijn. Van het herstellen van weilanden tot het restaureren van oude en ambachtelijke systemen, Mas Ferrerós is een plek waar het verleden en het heden samenkomen in een poging een duurzame toekomst op te bouwen.

Mas Ferreros is not just the home of Alain and Matthew : “We have our doors open to people who are interested in sharing the experience of living in nature and want to participate in integrating into our lifestyle,” says Matthew, who arrived in Catalonia from Mexico seven years ago. “We are a group of people committed to respect, integrity and human values who want to share our home with serious people who immerse themselves and integrate into the harmony that is experienced at home.” As he says, “we seek to be a platform for people who want to try out how to live in nature.”

A dream among friends

What began as a dream shared between friends became a reality after years of research. Born in the Basque Country, Alain Llopart talks about his arrival in these lands, describing how the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings captivated him and convinced him to settle here with his friend Matthew. “The fact of not being invaded by antennas and high-voltage networks, and the concept of a Catalan farmhouse in the middle of the mountains, with no neighbors for miles around, made me fall in love,” confesses Alain. After two years of tireless research, and when they were about to throw in the towel, they found Mas Ferrerós, a place that not only met their expectations, but also offered them a space in which to develop their life project.

Currently, they are in the process of establishing a non-profit association , with the aim of not only preserving this space, but also of promoting an alternative human exchange to that typical of the current economic system. They are looking for committed residents, autonomous people who share their values and are willing to participate in community life and in the preservation of the heritage, as well as in the maintenance tasks of the estate, to create “this atmosphere of connection and common participation”. From Mas Ferrerós, we make an attentive appeal to volunteers who seek to live the experience of restoring life to a space built for self-sustainability.

Among the advantages and benefits of this volunteering, in addition to learning, is the fact of living this experience in a natural paradise in the northeast of Spain.  Full of magical routes, isolated from pollution, with magnificent views, close to rivers, reservoirs and historical structures such as buildings and medieval bridges.

Mas Ferrerós is an old Catalan farmhouse from the 17th century located on top of a mountain in Sant Llorens de la Muga, a town in the pre-Pyrenees of Girona.  Close to rivers, reservoirs and historical structures such as medieval buildings and bridges.

It is currently the headquarters of the A.R.Co.P project, acronym for the Association for the Repopulation and Conservation of Heritage, which is the foundation that provides structure and support to our service;  give continuity to the legacy of our ancestors by being a means that links people with nature.

Our volunteering:

We are in full restoration of the farmhouse that is our headquarters/home.  It is the perfect time to come and learn many things about the recovery of an old farmhouse of high heritage interest.

We have multiple fields to work on and you can choose the area of your contribution.

Some tasks are:

Take care of various animals (goats, chickens, horses, etc.)

Operate agricultural machinery (low displacement)

garden work

Rehabilitation of various spaces of the farmhouse with self-sustainability of resources.

Graphic design

Etc

What is the exchange?

A.R.Co.P.  offers you an intimate and personal space for your rest (individual or shared depending on availability).

Share large common areas, as well as electricity and water supplies.

And acquire knowledge of a self-sustaining life while enjoying the experience in an environment surrounded by natural beauties.

Feeding:

For breakfast, we offer a highly nutritious “porridge” (fine oats, cashew nuts, nuts, seeds, rice-oat milk, cinnamon, syrup, fruit, etc.).

For lunch and dinner, we offer lentils, chickpeas, rice, pasta, medium, quinoa and other cereals, legumes, oil and spices, as well as the vegetables and eggs that are required.

You are free to eat whatever you fancy regardless of your nutrition philosophy and practice, keeping in mind that the only foods included in the exchange are those made up.

What do we expect in return?

4 hours of collaboration, 4 days a week.

Desde Mas Ferrerós, hacemos un atento llamamiento a voluntarios que busquen vivir la experiencia de restaurar la vida de un espacio edificado para la autosustentabilidad.

Dentro de las ventajas y beneficios del voluntariado, además del aprendizaje, se encuentra el hecho de vivir esta experiencia en un paraíso natural dentro del noreste español. Pleno de rutas mágicas, aislado de la contaminación, con magnificientes vistas, cercanía de rios, embalses y estructuras históricas tales como edificaciones y puentes medievales.

Mas Ferrerós es una antigua masía catalana del siglo XVII ubicada en lo alto de una montaña en Sant Llorens de la Muga, pueblo del pre-pirineo de Girona. Con cercanía de rios, embalses y estructuras históricas tales como edificaciones y puentes medievales.

Actualmente es la sede del proyecto A.R.Co.P, siglas de la Asociación por la Repoblación y Conservación del Patrimonio que es la fundación que brinda estructura y sustento a nuestro servicio; darle continuidad al legado de nuestros ancestros siendo un medio que vincule a la gente con la naturaleza.

A.R.Co.P. es dirigida por Matthew Denegrevaught y Alain Llopart. Individuos cuyo compromiso y pasión por la vida natural les ha impulsado a fundar la asociación que brinda estructura al proyecto.

Nuestro voluntariado:

Estamos en plena restauración de la masía que es nuestra sede/hogar. Es el momento perfecto para venir y aprender muchas cosas sobre la recuperación de una masía antigua de alto interés patrimonial.

Tenemos múltiples ámbitos en los que trabajar y puedes elegir el área de tu contribución.

Algunas tareas son:

Cuidar de diversos animales (cabras, gallinas, caballos, etcétera)

Operar maquinaria agrícola (baja cilindrada)

Labores de huerto

Rehabilitación de diversos espacios de la masía con autosostenibilidad de recursos.

Diseño gráfico

Etcétera

¿Cuál es el intercambio?

A.R.Co.P. te ofrece un espacio íntimo y personal para tu descanso (individual o compartido según la disponibilidad).

Compartir amplias zonas comunes, así como suministros de electricidad y agua.

Y aQdquirir conocimientos de vida autosostenible mientras se disfruta de la experiencia en un entorno rodeado de bellezas naturales.

Alimentación:

Para el desayuno, ofrecemos un “porridge” de alto valor nutritivo (avena fina, anarcardos, nueces, semillas, leche de arroz-avena, canela, sirope, fruta, etc).

Para comer y cenar, ofrecemos lentejas, garbanzos, arroz, pasta, medio, quinoa y demás cerales, legumbres, aceite y especias, así como los vegetales y huevos que sean requeridos.

Eres libre de comer lo que más te apetezca sea cual sea tu filosofía y práctica de nutrición, teniendo en cuenta que los únicos alimentos incluidos en el intercambio son los subsanados encima.
